First transmission STATCOM in New Zealand commissioned at Kikiwa
24 Feb 2010Transpower said today that New Zealand’s first large-scale STATCOM at Kikiwa substation (northeast of Murchison) will be in full operation later this month and is part of a suite of projects that will increase security of electricity supply to Nelson-Marlborough and the West Coast.

25 Jan 2010Transpower says that some areas of Auckland will currently be experiencing a power outage due to a fire under two of its transmission lines in the Waikato region.
