Rural Communities Trust
Transpower is a principal member of the Rural Communities Trust, established in 1982 to give financial assistance to groups, families and individuals in rural areas. The Trust provides specific purpose grants to individuals and communities with a population of less than 2,000 people.
Each year the Trust approves grants to individuals with a diverse range of educational, health and welfare needs, where their location impacts on their ability to access necessary services.
To date, over 750 grants to the value of over $600,000 have been approved.
