Transpower is working on a proposed new Transmission Pricing Methodology (TPM) for the Electricity Authority. The TPM development timeline is designed to ensure we meet the required delivery date of 30 June 2021.
Here [ pdf 161.96 KB ] is our most up-to-date timeline, outlining our work from 1 March 2021 - 30 June 2021.

We accelerated our process for Checkpoint 1 (“our initial analysis for benefit-based charge”) to provide a window of opportunity for meaningful engagement with stakeholders on the more complex aspects of the guidelines, particularly the benefit-based charge, ahead of the Christmas holiday period.
We consider it unlikely there will be sufficient time following Checkpoint 2 to engage meaningfully with stakeholders on the draft proposed TPM. However, we continue to explore what options are available to hear your feedback ahead of submitting our proposed TPM to the Electricity Authority in June.

TPM development process requirements
An important part of our TPM development work is complying with the Electricity Authority’s (EA) process decision, which is set out in Box 1 of its June 2020 Decision Paper.
Below are documents, and related letters between Transpower and the EA, for the process requirements we have completed to date. We will continue to publish more as the project continues and more process requirements are complete.
