Offer and Bid Setup

Transpower as system operator provides scheduling and dispatch services under the Electricity Industry Participation Code (the 'Code'). This page provides information about the our set-up process for Generators and Purchasers who wish to make bids and offers.

In summary this involves:

  • giving notice of intent to submit initial bids/offers
  • arranging WITS connection for submitting bids/offers.

Generators and Purchasers must give at least five business days' notice in writing to the system operator before making an offer or bid for the first time.

Generators and Purchasers are required to notify the system operator before making an offer or bid for the first time, and to provide the system operator with information needed for scheduling and dispatch.

The Generator Notice of Initial Offer or Purchaser Notice of Initial Bid forms are to be completed and emailed to market.operations@transpower.co.nz. Signed originals must be posted to:
