Our Next Workshop

Industry Workshops

Transpower is pleased to invite you to a series of workshops around the country which will take place in the first week of April 2017. 

These workshops will cover a variety of system operations and grid topics relevant to industry.

Our workshops will be held in three locations. The Christchurch workshop will be held on Monday 3 April, Wellington on Thursday 6 April and Auckland on Friday 7 April.

Each workshop is a whole day session; lunch will be provided.

Workshop Content

The morning session will be devoted to a series of presentations and discussions on resilience and recovery of the power system. Topics covered will include:​

  • Black-outs and system restoration – lessons from recent Australian and NZ events

  • Sharing Transpower’s experiences with critical event management

The afternoon session will cover:

  • Updates on current system operations and grid workstreams, including:
    • Introduction to the Real Time Pricing market initiative
    • Observations on the National Market for Instantaneous Reserves post implementation
    • Outcomes of recent studies on voltage management
    • Emerging technologies work programme
  • An interactive panel session on innovation and industry development.

Please note as with previous forums the agenda may differ in each location.
