An agreement that will help improve the security of electricity supply into the greater Auckland region was signed today by Vector and Transpower.

Power has been restored to the Te Awamutu area. The cause of the fault is under investigation.

The Te Awamutu area is currently experiencing a power outage due to a fault on the Karapiro to Te Awamutu transmission line.

Transpower has successfully commissioned a new switching station at Drury, south of Auckland.
