We’re building a future grid blueprint, to help plan what investment is needed to support Aotearoa to grow to 2050 and beyond.
To inform that process, we’ve developed five potential scenarios of what Aotearoa’s electricity needs might look like in 2050, and we want your feedback on whether these are plausible possibilities and what we might have missed.
Consultation is open to 5pm, Friday 14 November 2025
We’ve produced a consultation document that includes the five potential scenarios as well as a range of background information on the inputs, methodologies and assumptions we are using.
