As part of the work needed for the Western Bay of Plenty Development Plan, Transpower is replacing the conductor on some key 110 kV lines supplying the region.

What are we doing?
We are underway with a project to replace the conductor on our 110 kV transmission line connecting between the Tarukenga and Okere substations. The new conductor will provide greater capacity for future growth in the Western Bay of Plenty region.
Why are we doing it?
The work is part of our Western Bay of Plenty Development plan that we have worked with Powerco on. It reflects increasing population and business growth in the region as well as the move towards electricity for transport (like EVs) and industrial processes.
