What are we doing?
We are underway with a project to install a new 220/110 kV interconnecting transformer at the Kaitemako substation. The new transformer will provide greater capacity for the region.
Why are we doing it?
The work is part of our Western Bay of Plenty Development plan that we have worked with Powerco on. It reflects increasing population and business growth in the region as well as the move towards electricity for transport (like EVs) and industrial processes.
