Substations
All short-term workers and sub-contractors working on a single site for up to TWO (2) days are required to complete a Site Specific Induction (SSI) before commencing work.

Overview
Induction and supervision
The induction to the site and safety briefing must be carried out by a suitably competent individual. Appropriate supervision must be provided while on site. Guidance on who can provide this supervision can be obtained from the employee’s organisation.
Course components
There are TWO (2) parts to this course:
- Lines and Structures Fundamentals (e-learning module): This e-learning module provides general information about transmission line sites, what to consider before heading to site, and what to be aware of at lines worksites. Completion of this module is required before heading out to the site.
- Field Site Induction checklist (PDF): This checklist is to be used for the field site visit. It should be printed out and reviewed thoroughly to ensure all necessary preparations are completed before leaving for the site. This will help ensure minimum requirements are prepared for and safety is maintained when on site.
The checklist should be shared with the supervising individual during the site visit to ensure the visitor is well-informed.
