System operator report
On 6 September, in our role as system operator, we published an independent investigation into the loss of supply as per system operator procedures for reporting significant incidents. The investigation focused on the operational performance of Transpower in its dual system operator and grid owner roles as well as industry participants (rather than focusing on the tower fall that caused the outage, which is the subject of our earlier investigation).
The report and our response can be found here.
Electricity Authority report
On 25 September, the Minister for Energy released a report produced by the Electricity Authority confirming the findings of our earlier report. We accept the recommendations and are underway with actions in response.
The report and our response can be found here.
