Why do you work for Transpower?
I came to work for Transpower because I want to contribute to the transition to a renewable energy economy. Keeping the lights on for kiwis while we go through this transition is vital, and I love knowing that my work here makes a difference. Getting to collaborate with my colleagues on how we electrify New Zealand encourages me to come to work each day, and I’m proud to be here.
What about your role makes you proud?
I’m proud of the impact that my work has for the country. It’s incredibly rewarding to see real-world evidence of the things I do at work every day, whether by driving past transmission towers providing secure and reliable electricity, or seeing new infrastructure being built. I enjoy being part of something that is helping to shape the country’s development and support the lives of its people.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
My favourite part of my job is my team. My colleagues are fantastic, and we’re all united around a shared drive for excellence when it comes to carrying out Transpower’s role in the energy sector. I’m lucky to have a role with a balance of office work and opportunities to visit substations and projects where I can really see the hard-won results of the team’s efforts.
Belinda’s team is charged with delivering robust and timely cost estimates that support strategic decision making and ensure financial accountability across Transpower’s infrastructure projects.
